Thank you to everyone who was so patient with your laptop exchange. Exchanging a laptop is a stressful task, and we hope the newly improved laptop exchange process has alleviated some of the anxiety. If we can improve anything further, feel free to drop us a line and let us know how we can serve you and the SPS Community better in the future. Again, we thank you for the opportunity to serve you. By now, all new Lenovo model laptops have been deployed to those who were scheduled for a laptop refresh. The next laptop cycle will begin anew sometime in the Winter quarter of 2025. The same laptops are scheduled to be ordered at the end of the Fall 2024 quarter, so stay tuned for more updates as more information becomes available.

Daylight Savings Time has ended but certainly not forgotten. All of the SPS Classrooms within Wieboldt Hall now has an atomic clock. These clocks (shown in photo above) are considered the most accurate timekeeping devices in the world. Our clocks look like a typical clock and some would say these clocks look “old style”, but almost all would say these clocks keep the perfect time. Rest assured, these clocks are not radioactive nor are there any nuclear power, just battery power. The accuracy comes from radio frequency waves in the air from Fort Collins, Colorado. So for now, the classroom clocks within Wieboldt Hall are more accurate than before. To learn more, checkout the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) video explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnAL_A-eb_w OR you may read more from NIST: https://www.nist.gov/atomic-clocks/how-do-atomic-clocks-work
