Wireless @ NU is called eduroam – If you are on the NU campuses, the mobile wifi of choice is called eduroam (education roaming). Simply login with your NETID and password. This service allows NU faculty, students, and staff to access wireless network services while visiting eduroam-participating institutions throughout the world. Simplified Service Desk – For those who may have not noticed, The SPS-IT and SPS-Facilities Service Desk ticketing system has been streamlined! To request any SPS-IT or SPS-Facilities service, just send an email to either sps-it@northwestern.edu OR sps-facilities@northwestern.edu, and a Service ticket will be automatically generated and catalogued. Be sure to include your NETID, requested issue, and, your contact information in the body of the email.
New types of chairs considered for One classroom – For better collaboration among groups, there was a request from Faculty and Students to exchange and review chairs options within a Wieboldt Hall classroom. Manufacturers brought sample chairs onto the Chicago campus, similar to those chairs currently being used on the Evanston campus classrooms. Voting lasted about one week and faculty and students who were onsite were able to vote for their favorite type of chair. Once the votes are tallied, a pilot test will begin. Updated Lenovo Laptop Docks for better desk organization – There are MOCK (remote-office-home-office) ROHO docking stations in Wieboldt 614 Service Desk area to view. These new docks are more efficient and comes with longer power cables, more USB ports, and a “sleep” button for the laptop. Feel free to stop by Wieboldt Hall 614 to view these newly updated Lenovo docks in-person. (Sample photo of dock is below).


USB Flash Drives – new drives are still available for those who are interested or missed these the 1st time in October. Kingston branded with 64Gb of storage space. Stop by the Service desk to pick-up one or just to say “hello” (while supplies last).
